Body Found in Colorado Springs, Homicide Investigation Launched

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- A homicide investigation has been launched into the early-morning discovery of a body in Colorado Springs on Wednesday.

The body is reported to have been found around 2:15 a.m. on Gold Camp Road. Officials say fire crews responding to a call found the body on fire, and notified police.

Information about the victim's gender along with other identification details were not immediately available. The cause of death was also not immediately known.

Colorado Ranks No. 5 in the Nation for Business

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Co.) -- Colorado ranked No. 5 in the nation for business, according to a recently released report from Forbes.

The Colorado Springs Business Journal reports that the rankings were based on costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, current economic climate, growth prospects and quality of life.

Colorado earned accolades earlier in June when CNBC ranked the state fifth in the nation for business.

Utah ranked No. 1.

Maine ranked last in the study.

Officials Search for Culprit Behind Abandoned Bunnies

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- The Humane Society is offering a $500 reward for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in an animal cruelty case.

Between 50 and 70 rabbits were abandoned on Mark Dabling Boulevard in Colorado Springs on Sunday, according to ABC affiliate KRDO-TV.

Anyone with information on the rabbits is urged to call 473-1741.

Update: 'Occupy Colorado' Protester Arrested

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- Colorado Springs Police detained one person on Monday in connection with "Occupy Colorado" protest action.

Police say around 1:40 p.m. members of the "Occupy Colorado" group were observed with tables set up at Acacia Park in violation of city code, following which, the group was warned and the tables moved. A police report states that the group was again warned about being in violation of city code after they moved the tables to the front of City Hall and then to a nearby grassy area.

Nicholas Galetka, 23, reportedly said he was the owner of the property involved, and was taken into custody and cited for permits required.

Structural Fire Breaks Out at Colorado Springs Mobile Home Park

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Co.) -- A fire broke out on a structure in the Aspen Grove Mobile Home Park in Colorado Springs Monday, ABC News Colorado Springs affiliate KRDO-TV reports.

Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the scene at 2410 Busch Ave. where they worked to contain and extinguish the flames that were believed to have been coming from the attic of the unit.

No injuries were reported, though two people were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
