Fort Carson Troops Deploy to Afghanistan

(FORT CARSON, Colo.) -- Eighty soldiers from Fort Carson get a send-off Tuesday afternoon as they ship out for Afghanistan.  The deployment departure ceremony for the members of the 928th Area Support Medical Company is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Fort Carson.

The National Guardsmen and women first head to Fort Lewis in Washington for language and cultural training before heading out to support Operation Enduring Freedom.
