Gold Mine Expansion Approved 

(VICTOR, Colo.) -- On Thursday, the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology approved a request sent in February for Cripple Creek Victor Gold Mining Company to continue and expand their digging of the hills of Teller County, ABC affiliate KRDO-TV reports.

The expansion project will cost $557 million and is expected to finish in 2017.

The mining company currently has 500 employees and 100 contractors and will add 100 new permanent jobs and 200 contractors due to the expansion, according to the general manager of the company.
