Gun Accidentally Dishcarges, Hitting Man Mowing Lawn

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- A Colorado Springs man was injured Sunday, after a gun in his possession accidentally went off while he was mowing his lawn.

Police say they were called to the 5100 block of Farmingdale Drive shortly before 2:30 p.m. on a report about a person being shot. An investigation then found that the victim was reportedly mowing his lawn with a loaded handgun in his pocket when the gun fell, hit the sidewalk and discharged, hitting the victim in the lower leg.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
