Man Stabbed with Broken Beer Bottle in Early-Morning Attack
(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- A man had to be hospitalized early Friday morning after being stabbed with a broken glass bottle in Colorado Springs.
The victim and his girlfriend were reportedly sitting in a car on the 2000 block of S. El Paso Avenue around 1:30 a.m. when a man with a lighter was observed looking into their car window. Police said the male victim exited the car to confront the suspect and was struck in the head with a beer bottle. The victim was then stabbed in the lower right arm with a broken bottle and had to be treated at a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries, a police report stated.
Police later arrested Francisco Mireles-Velasquel, 23, for the attack. He was charged with first-degree assault.
