Wanted Man Found Hiding Under Pile of Clothes

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- A wanted man is now in police custody, after he was found hiding under a pile of clothes in a Colorado Springs apartment.

According to a police statement, officers received a tip that wanted fugitive Augustine Gallegos, 26, was hiding out at an apartment on the 2600 block of E. Dale Street, with officers going to the location around 6 p.m. in search of the man. The statement said officers were given permission to search the home, but when they called for Gallegos to come out from hiding, they got no response.

A police dog was eventually brought in, with the dog reportedly finding Gallegos tucked away under a pile of clothes in a bedroom closet. Gallegos was wanted on a federal parole violation warrant for a weapons offense, stated police.
