"Going Green" Goes to New Levels in Columbia

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) -- Columbia's Forestry and Beautification Commission is making the term "going green" a reality for years to come.

On Monday afternoon, the commission planted the first of 5,000 trees to be grown at Maxcy Gregg Park.

The commission hopes private donors will match the city's 5,000 trees during the next 10 years as part of its 10,000 trees program.
