Governor's Health Vetoes Cause Controversy
(COLUMBIA, S.C.) -- The $1.4 million state spending budget to aid rape victims, help fund insurance premiums for hemophiliacs and give testing for people at-risk for kidney disease was vetoed by Gov. Nikki Haley, according to The State.
Many criticize her decision of not helping some of the most vulnerable residents of South Carolina.
Next week lawmakers will return to Columbia to vote whether to overturn Haley’s vetoes or to sustain her decision. Two-thirds vote in both House and Senate are necessary to overturn the vetoes.
