Mother Sentenced to 35 Years for Killing Children

(ORANGEBURG, S.C.) -- A 30-year-old mother who pleaded guilty to killing her two children was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Friday.

Shaquan Duley pleaded guilty on March 16 to suffocating 18-month-old Ja'van T. Duley and 2-year-old Devan C. Duley at a Trumps Inn in August 2010 before placing them in a car and driving it into a river.

Circuit Court Judge Edgar Dickson sentenced Duley to 35 years for each of the killings, but she will serve them concurrently.  She will also receive credit for time already served.
