SC Man Arrested for Making Bomb Threat on Plane

(TUCSON, Ariz.) -- A South Carolina man was arrested in Arizona on Monday after he allegedly made a threat saying a bomb was onboard a plane.

A release from the U.S. Attorney's Office said Ivan Bugakov, 24, of Jacksonville, S.C., was on a U.S. Airways flight as it was about to depart Tucson, Ariz., when he became loud, unruly, and belligerent. While being removed from the flight, it is alleged that Bugakov said that there was a bomb onboard the aircraft, before later telling airport police that he had a bomb in his carry-on luggage.

Officials said checks were done, and no explosive devices were found.

Bugakov has been charged with false information and threats involving aircraft.
