Update: House Ethics Panel Votes to Reopen Haley Probe
(COLUMBIA, S.C.) -- The House Ethics Committee voted unanimously on Wednesday to reopen its probe of South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, The State reports.
The committee had been looking into whether the governor illegally lobbied while a House member, using her public office for personal gain and to benefit her employees. Haley has denied the accusations, and has turned over affadavits and other documents that she says proved her innocence.
Testimony will be heard from witnesses the committee selects and they will be required to testify under oath. No date has been set for the testimony, the paper says.
