Human Trafficking on the Rise, Noticed by Medical Professionals

(FORT WORTH, Texas) -- Human trafficking is a growing problem that medical professionals at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth face, reports ABC affiliate WFAA-TV.

Dr. Sophia Grant, a physician who treats child sex abuse victims, is educating medical professionals about patients who are part of human trafficking.

She says infections and distinct tattoos, repeated medical treatment for unexplained injuries and repeated drug use are all signs that a child is being trafficked.
