Lightning Strike Causes Serious Damage to Carrollton Theater

(CARROLLTON, Texas) -- A theater in Carrollton sustained serious damage Wednesday after it was struck by lightning as storms passed through the area.

Theater 166, which is located on the 2400 block of Parker Road saw its roof being destroyed along with other parts of the structure. The theater is run by Crosspointe Church, according to the Dallas News, and Wednesday marked the second anniversary of it being in operation.

There were no reports of injury.

"We’re very lucky that no one was inside the space yesterday," church administrator David Knight told the newspaper. "I’m so glad no one was hurt."
