Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile Virus in Plano

(PLANO, Texas) -- The Plano Environmental Health Department announced in a press release that mosquitoes are testing positive for West Nile Virus in the 75074 zip code area.

The department says it will increase its testing of mosquitoes in the area and will closely monitor the need for additional mosquito larvicide or spraying measures. It also plans to distribute informational flyers to residents and businesses in the affected area in the next week.

The department has implemented a West Nile Virus hotline (972.941.7180) to answer frequently asked questions about the disease, at-home prevention measures and Health Department mosquito vector control.
