Officials Look to Forgotten Pools Breeding the West Nile

(CARROLLTON, Texas) -- Officials believe abandoned and neglected pools may be breeding grounds for mosquitoes that have the West Nile virus, ABC affiliate WFAA reports.

Carrollton’s Environmental Services have been cleaning pools and ponds that are dirty and infested with green algae.

Residents are asked to call 311 to report unclean pools to prevent the spread of the virus.
