Three More Indicted in Puppy Burning Case
(DALLAS) -- Three more suspects have been indicted in the animal cruelty case involving a pit bull puppy that was covered in lighter fluid and set on fire at a Dallas apartment complex, ABC affiliate WFAA reports.
Richard Anthony Valentine, Darius Lamar Carey and Adrian Michael Ayers are in custody at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center. Valentine and Carey turned themselves in after arrest warrants were issued, and Ayers was already in custody on an unrelated offense.
The charges were raised to a third-degree felony due to the use of a deadly weapon, which is punishable from two to 10 years in prison.
A trial date was scheduled for Nov. 12 for Darius Ewing, the first suspect indicted in the case.
