(DALLAS) -- A woman on her ninth month of pregnancy was killed in a car accident but her baby was saved on Sunday morning, reports ABC affiliate WFAA-TV.
Shachela Womack, 35, died after her 15-year-old son, the driver, flipped the vehicle over on Belt Line Road near Eagle Ford Drive at around 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
Womack was rushed to Methodist Dallas Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival. The baby was delivered and saved by doctors and is being held in the neonatal intensive care unit.
The teen driver, a female adult passenger and a 5-year-old child were also sent to the hospital and are expected to recover.
Officials are investigating how the teen lost control of the vehicle.
