Accident Shuts Down I-80 for Several Hours Monday

(ALTOONA, Iowa) -- An accident involving two semitrailer trucks shut down I-80 for several hours on Monday and resulted in injuries, the Des Moines Register reports.

The crash took place on I-80 between exits 141 and 142 around 7 p.m. The number of people injured and the severity of the injuries were not immediately available, the paper says.

The interstate was reopened shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday, according to the Register.
