Fire Damages Downtown Boone Restaurant

(BOONE, Iowa) -- Firefighters were called to downtown Boone early Friday as flames took over a restaurant in the area.

The fire was reported around 5 a.m. at the Giggling Goat on Story Street. The blaze damaged the roof of the structure, according to published reports, as thick smoke could be seen emanating from the building.

It was not immediately known if there were any injuries, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
