(INDIANOLA, Iowa) -- Police in Indianola say there has been an unusually high number of break-ins recently -- 11 in the past four weeks, ABC affiliate WOI-TV reports.
The most recent break-in took place at Lacy Swedberg's home this past weekend. She was home sleeping with her husband and two children when someone broke into their garage and got a spare key to the house from their vehicle. The burglar, however, never made it inside. The couple believes their dog may have scared the suspect away.
Cash was stolen from the other break-ins that occurred, all on the west side of Indianola. Police believe all of the incidents are related and are connected to a local resident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Indianola police.
