Mom Jailed for Newborn Twins Deaths

(DES MOINES, Iowa) -- A young mother was sentenced up to 50 years for killing her newborn twins in January, ABC affiliate WOI-TV reports.

On Thursday, Jackie Burkle, 22, pled guilty to two charges of second degree murder in Story County District Court and will serve the term in Mitchellville women’s prison.

Burkle confessed that she killed her babies and told police they could find their bodies in her car.
