Search On for Escaped Inmate from Work Release Facility

(DES MOINES, Iowa) -- Authorities are searching for an inmate who reportedly escaped from the Fort Des Moines Work Release Facility on Thursday.
Officials said Darnell Lee, 21, was placed on escaped status after he could not be found at the facility. Lee began serving a six-year sentence in October for willful injury causing bodily injury and assault on a peace officer.
Lee is described as a Black male, about 5'10" in height, weighs approximately 186 pounds and has a number of tattoos on his arms and hands.
Anyone with information about Lee's whereabouts is asked to contact authorities at 283-4811.
