(WUHAN, China) -- Representatives from 21 Michigan businesses are in China this week meeting prospective business partners from that country with the aim of increasing export opportunities to China.

The Michigan business leaders have made the trip as part of a trade mission led by the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

While in China the business leaders will attend "matchmaking events" in Chengdu, Guiyang, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai and Wuhan, according to a Michigan State news release.

Governor Rick Snyder is also in China this week on an investment mission.
