AAA Michigan Predicts More Travelers Over Memorial Day Weekend

(DETROIT) -- Expect more travelers on Michigan’s roads over Memorial Day weekend, AAA Michigan announced Monday.

The Detroit Free Press reports that nearly 1.1 million Michigan residents will travel 50 miles or more on vacation between Thursday and Memorial Day on May 28—a 1.2 percent increase over travelers in 2011.

AAA Michigan anticipates that 91 percent of travelers will take to the roads to get to their destinations while 6 percent will fly. The remaining travelers will likely take a bus or train.
