(DETROIT) -- Authorities are investigating a potential threat of violence targeted at Wayne State University.
The FBI, along with local police and university security officials, is investigating an online threat that a student is planning on committing violent acts on WSU’s campus on Wednesday. The threat was posted anonymously on Saturday, but investigators have since identified the student behind it, and executed a search warrant at the person’s home.
No weapons were recovered in the search, but police say they confiscated some property related to the threat. The student has reportedly been cooperating with authorities throughout the investigation, but has since banned from the Wayne State University campus.
Police believe the situation to be defused, and say the campus is safe.
