Governor Signs Legislation Banning Synthetic Drugs in Michigan

(LANSING, Mich.) -- Synthetic drugs such as K2 and Spice are now officially banned from Michigan store shelves, following the signing of legislation by Governor Rick Snyder on Tuesday.

The legislation categorises such drugs as Schedule 1 drugs, and Governor Snyder said the move to ban the drugs was done to protect teens and young adults.

"K2, Spice and similar products are not safe for human consumption, and I applaud the Legislature's efforts to remove these dangerous compounds from our communities and protect our youth," Snyder said in a statement.
