Military Training Exercises Mistaken for UFO Sighting

(ALPENA, Mich.) -- This past week there were several calls to 9-1-1 about suspicious UFO sightings due to strange lights in the night sky in northern Michigan, according to the Grand Rapids Press.
On Friday, military officials confirmed the lights in the sky were most likely decoy flares used during a major training exercise at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center.
Air National Guard units convene in northern Michigan on Monday from seven different states and will train together until July 20.
