Officials to Announce Completion of Gateway Plaza Project

(DETROIT) -- Officials from the Michigan Department of Transportation will announce on Friday the completion of the Gateway Plaza project, The Detroit News reports.

The $230 million project, which reconfigures the linkages between the Ambassador Bridge to Canada and Interstates 75 and 96, is finished after six years of work and a number of lawsuits between the state and the Detroit International Bridge Co. that delayed its original timetable of three years.

Local and state officials will attend the grand opening ceremony Friday morning at 10:30 a.m.
