(DETROIT) -- According to a national Challenger, Gray & Christmas survey, 68 percent of businesses plan to have holiday office parties this year, which is a notable improvement from last year's 62 percent. According to Detroit special-event venues, companies are also booking events with caterers, which means that they are willing to spend more.
Maria Leonhauser told the Detroit Free Press that her company's bowling party this year is "celebratory, but it's not over the top. Last year, the economy was so bad; it just didn't feel right to be whoop-de-doing and having a fantastic time when so much struggle was going on."
