Chilean Mine Rescue Story Headed to the Small Screen

Photo Courtesy - ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Fresh on the heels of the 33 Chilean miners being rescued from a mine after 69 days, the Discovery Channel announced Thursday it will air Rescued: The Chilean Mine Story on Oct. 28.  The network says it has exclusive footage of the miners, their families and other officials, as well as never-before-seen footage from the rescue.

Spike TV will also cash in on the event that made world headlines.  The cable channel announced Thursday it's working on a reality show about life in a West Virginia mine called Coal.  Spike, which says it's been developing the series for months, expects it to premiere next April.
