Aerosmith's Whitford to Perform Hendrix Classic on 'Tonight Show'

Photo Courtesy - RSVP/Track/Barclay/Polydor/Reprise/Capitol/MCA(BURBANK, Calif.) -- Fans of both Jimi Hendrix and Aerosmith will want to tune in to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Monday evening.

Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford will perform the classic song “Fire,” from Hendrix’s album Are You Experienced, joined by drummer Chris Layton of Double Trouble and guitarist Jonny Lang.  The musicians recently took part in the Experience Hendrix tour, which pays tribute to the late guitarist.

Whitford recently remembered seeing the Jimi Hendrix Experience perform at the Boston Gardens in his youth.  He tells The Macomb Daily, “It just really changed the way I thought about music…and even what kind of guitar I was gonna play.  It was like a door opened when he came along and created this new avenue that I just somehow had to be part of.”
