'Entertainment Weekly' Names Best and Worst Albums, Singles of 2010

Photo Courtesy - Arista Records(NEW YORK) -- Best-of lists in music are common at the year's end but what about the stinkers?  Entertainment Weekly's new issue compiles a list of both the greatest records that came out over the past year and the worst.

According to the magazine, Santana's Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time, which featured the guitarist collaborating with people like Chris Daughtry, Rob Thomas and Train's Pat Monahan, is one of the top five worst albums of 2010.  EW called it "one long layover in the airport karaoke lounge."

Bret Michaels' disc Custom Built was also deemed a failure by EW, as well as Christina Aguilera's BionicEW called it "not nearly the worst album of the year, just one of the most disappointing...too often, it's a mess" with "diva antics," "bratty throwaway" and too many songs about sex.

EW also singled out the worst singles of the year, which include, according to the magazine, the "We Are the World" remake for Haitian earthquake relief, and Train's "Hey Soul Sister."  The magazine writes, "Everything about this corny hit makes us cringe.  Why oh why does it have to be so damn catchy?"

As for the best albums of the year, EW singled out Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy as number one, and also gave props to records by Cee-Lo Green and the rock band Arcade Fire.  Among EW's best singles were Taylor Swift's "Back to December," Pink's "Raise Your Glass" and Lady Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone."  Getting honorable mention: Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and Sade's "Soldier of Love."

Winona Ryder: Mel Gibson Called Me an 'Oven Dodger'

Photo Courtesy - FilmMagic/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Winona Ryder claims she's known about Mel Gibson's not-so-palatable side for years.

"I remember, like, fifteen years ago, I was at one of those big Hollywood parties,” Ryder told GQ Magazine in the January 2011 issue. “He was really drunk. I was with my friend, who's gay. He made a really horrible gay joke. And somehow it came up that I was Jewish. He said something about 'oven dodgers,' but I didn't get it. I'd never heard that before. It was just this weird, weird moment. I was like, 'He's anti-Semitic and he's homophobic.' No one believed me!"

Gibson's publicist did not immediately respond to an ABC News request for comment.

From Jersey Shore to State Pen?

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(TOMS RIVER, N.J.) -- Jersey Shore's Ronald Ortiz was indicted on assault charges on Thursday.  The indictment, stemming from an incident shown on the television show, was unveiled Friday.

The indictment alleges Ortiz, known as "Ronnie" on the MTV show, knowingly caused harm to Steven Izzo by hitting him with a closed fist.  Izzo, of Berkeley, N.J., was knocked out with the one punch and it was shown in an episode of the show entitled "One Shot."  If convicted, Ortiz could spend up to five years in state prison.

Izzo is suing MTV, show producers and Ortiz in a civil case.

The punch was apparently sparked by another cast member, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, kissing a man in a group at a nightclub back in September 2009.  Izzo was with that group, that also included the man's girlfriend.  There was a heated exchange which prompted Izzo and Ortiz to head outside, where prosecutors say Ortiz dropped the 26-year-old Izzo with the punch.

Ortiz is free on bail.
