McCartney Talks 'Band on the Run' Deluxe Re-Issue, in Stores Tuesday

Photo Courtesy - Hear Music/Amazon(NEW YORK) -- The deluxe re-issue of the Wings classic album Band on the Run hits stores Tuesday.  Paul McCartney, who's been posting webisodes discussing the release on his website, points out the re-issue was done because he "personally like[s] to give people value for money."

He also says that some of the added features in the set include extra Polaroid photos taken by McCartney's late wife, Linda.  McCartney says that "she took way more than appear on the poster" included in the original release that features the band members.

Sir Paul says another added feature in the deluxe edition is "a film we took in Lagos," where the album was recorded.  The film, which is previously unreleased, shows the band "knocking around with the local people, having a bit of fun."  McCartney says another previously unseen film included in the set is "the making of the cover."

In addition to the DVD footage, the Band on the Run re-issue includes a 120-page book featuring unreleased photos, alternate tracks, an audio documentary and an option to digitally download all the tracks, the audio documentary and all the video footage.

Charlie Sheen Files for Divorce From Third Wife, Brooke Mueller

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Charlie Sheen has filed for divorce from his third wife, Brooke Mueller, a week after he was released from a New York hospital following an alleged alcohol-fueled rampage at an upscale hotel.

Sheen, 45, star of the hit comedy Two and a Half Men, filed for divorce Monday in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple was married in May 2008 and has 1-year-old twin boys together. Sheen is petitioning for joint custody.

According to the court documents, Sheen did not know the "extent of [his] assets and obligations," and the couple has a pre-nuptial agreement.

The Web site TMZ.com obtained a previous property settlement the couple signed in May in which Sheen agreed to pay Mueller $55,000 a month in child support. He also agreed to pay her $1 million to keep the couple's home and an additional lump sum payment of $757,689.70.

In August, Sheen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor third-degree assault after pulling a knife on his wife on Christmas Day 2009.

In the new documents, Sheen listed the couple's separation date as the day of the fight.

Last week, Sheen was hospitalized after security at the Plaza Hotel was called to the actor's room because he was acting erratically.

Sheen and his second wife, Denise Richards, and their two children, all were staying at the hotel, though Sheen was in a separate room.

Also reportedly in Sheen's room was porn actress Christina Walsh.

Sheen's publicist has said the actor was not drunk but was suffering an allergy to medicine.

Faintings at Screenings of New James Franco Film, '127 Hours'

Image Courtesy - Fox Searchlight(NEW YORK) -- The new James Franco movie, 127 Hours, about the trapped hiker who amputated his own arm to escape certain death is apparently so graphic its causing audience members to faint.  That wasn't director Danny Boyle's intent and studio executives say they would rather people not get sick at the film, but industry experts say it could boost box office.

The film is the story of Aron Ralston, a young hiker who went off into the Utah mountains in 2003 without telling people where he was going.  Falling boulders pinned his arm and after five days unable to free himself, Ralston decided the only way to survive was to amputate his arm.  He did so and the film shows it graphically.

The filmmakers say its not meant to be a gross-out film and critics are singling it out as a high-brow drama with awards on the horizon.  Danny Boyle, who directed Slumdog Millionaire, is no stranger to the Oscar stage.  That film won eight Academy Awards.

127 Hours opens Friday.

Jon Bon Jovi May Release Solo Album After Tour Ends

Photo Courtesy - Island Def Jam Music Group(NEW YORK) -- Bon Jovi are releasing their Greatest Hits album next week, and their tour, which resumes Nov. 30, is scheduled to run through July of 2011.  After that, Jon Bon Jovi might just step out solo.

He tells Billboard, "I'm going to sit on a beach for August [next year] and come September, figure out what's next.  [I might do] a smaller-sounding solo record, and/or focus more on the philanthropy and sports ownerships."

Jon, who hasn't released a solo record since 1997's Destination Anywhere, tells Billboard that if he does make a solo album, it'll be "a lyric-driven, acoustic-sounding kind of thing with piano, a couple guitars, an organ and a violin."

Noting that he often performs solo and acoustic for charity, he adds, "It really gives the singer a chance to sing. You're not competing with loud amps."

Huey Lewis & The News Release First Album in Nine Years

Photo Courtesy - W.O.W. Records(NEW YORK) -- After nine long years, Huey Lewis & The News return this week with a new album, Soulsville.  It's not a collection of original songs, though -- it's a tribute to the music of Stax, the legendary R&B record label that gave us such artists as Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Booker T. & The MG's, Isaac Hayes and Wilson Pickett.

Why return after so many years with this kind of record?  Huey tells ABC News Radio, "You need a concept these days."

In fact, the band's manager suggested that they they do the tribute album, and while Huey had initial reservations because of the iconic status of the original Stax performances, he eventually realized it was a great idea.

He explains, "I was very apprehensive about the whole project, 'cause some of these performances should not be repeated...but as we began to play it, it all felt so natural for us, and came out so well, and really suited our band."

For Soulsville, Huey Lewis & The News made a conscious effort not to record the biggest Stax hits, like "In the Midnight Hour" and "Dock of the Bay."  Instead, Huey says they "chose to go a little deeper into the catalog and hopefully find songs that people maybe hadn't heard."  Overall, he says, it was the most fun he and the News have ever had making a record.
