'The View:' Bill O'Reilly Was 'Condescending,' 'Disrespectful'

Photo Courtesy - ABC/Barwall Productions(NEW YORK) -- Three days after their blowup with Bill O'Reilly, the women of The View reflected on the incident with cooler heads and calmer voices, but made it clear they still aren't fans of the Fox News host.

Monday's edition of the ABC daytime talk show began with a re-hashing of what happened Thursday when O'Reilly declared that "Muslims killed us on 9/11," prompting co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar to walk off the set.

"He started with me as soon as he sat down," Goldberg said. "You can't throw stuff around like that, in my opinion. I'm glad that I left. I'm glad I left because I had reached my threshold."

View creator Barbara Walters said that a walk-out was probably what O'Reilly wanted.

"He loves this, this is just what he wants," she said of the controversy.

Goldberg did offer that O'Reilly's emotions may have gotten the better of him. "I suspect that maybe he said something that he actually didn't mean," she said.

O'Reilly defended his views last week on his prime-time Fox News show.

Mom Sues Tyra Banks and Show

Photo Courtesy - Jason Merritt/Getty Images(ATLANTA) -- Beverly McClendon is suing Tyra Banks and the producers of The Tyra Banks Show because McClendon's 15-year-old daughter appeared on a 2009 episode of the program that featured teen sex addicts.

McClendon says she didn't give consent for the underage girl to appear on camera and didn't realize she filmed the installment until it aired.  She says she filed a missing persons report when she couldn't find her teen, only to find out later that the producers flew the girl to New York City and put her up in a hotel so she could appear on the show.

McClendon is asking for $3 million, and for Warner Bros. Entertainment to block rebroadcasts of the show, which she claims put her daughter on camera for the viewing pleasure of, "sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles," according to the suit and WSBTV.com.

Police Investigating Incident Involving Justin Bieber

Photo Courtesy - Island Def Jam Music Group(TORONTO) -- Justin Bieber played a round of laser tag last Friday in Canada that got so out of hand, it’s now the subject of a police investigation.

According to the Vancouver Sun, Bieber has been accused of injuring a 12-year-old boy at a laser tag facility in Richmond, British Columbia.  The Royal Canadian Mounted Police says the boy suffered an injury that did not require medical care.

The Canadian celebrity website ZackTaylor.ca reports that Bieber, 16, was playing laser tag and attempting to avoid a shot when he accidentally bumped into the child.  Bieber’s rep denied the report to TMZ.com.

According to TMZ’s account of what happened, the child repeatedly shot at Bieber during the game, and when the singer told him to back off, the kid called him an anti-gay slur.  Canadian police say an “active investigation” is still ongoing.

'Jackass 3D' Breaks Record in Debut Weekend

Photo Courtesy - Paramount Pictures/MTV Films(NEW YORK) -- The Jackass crew had a record-setting debut at the box office over the weekend.  Jackass 3D earned an estimated $50 million to set a record for an October debut, snapping the old mark of $48.1 million set by Scary Movie 3 in 2003.  Jackass 3D sold fewer tickets than Scary Movie 3 did when the horror spoof was released, but Johnny Knoxville's film benefited from the higher ticket prices that exist today, especially for 3D movies.

The all-star action flick Red premiered in second place, drawing $22.5 million.  The Social Network, which had been the top movie the previous two weekends, fell to third place, with $11 million.  The Clint Eastwood drama Hereafter fared well in limited release, raising $231,000 in just six theaters.  Hereafter expands into a wide release this Friday.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Monday, with estimated ticket sales:

1. Jackass 3D, $50 million.
2. Red, $22.5 million.

'The Hobbit' to Get Underway in 2011

Photo Courtesy - HarperCollins Publishers(NEW YORK) -- After various production delays that cost the film its original director, Guillermo del Toro, The Hobbit is back on track.  Peter Jackson, who directed the Oscar-winning Lord of The Rings films, will now direct the prequel, beginning in February 2011.

The Hobbit tells the story of how Bilbo Baggins found the ring of power at the center of Lord of the Rings, and is based on author J.R.R. Tolkien's literary prequel.

Jackson had already signed on to co-write and produce the film version, but stepped in for co-producer del Toro to direct The Hobbit, which will be made into a pair of 3D films.

"Exploring Tolkien's Middle-earth goes way beyond a normal filmmaking experience," said Jackson in a statement. "It's an all-immersive journey into a very special place of imagination, beauty, and drama."
