Sinead O'Connor Says She Won't Kill Herself after Suicidal Tweets

Shirlaine Forrest/WireImage(DUBLIN) -- Sinead O'Connor has issued an apology following alarming tweets the singer posted expressing suicidal thoughts.

"I'm so tired. 24 yrs of being treated like a crazy person. Can't manage any more. Badly wish cud die without it ruining my kids lives," she tweeted on Sept. 14.

The tweets prompted police to storm the singer's house.

On Saturday, the singer -- who is perhaps best remembered for angrily ripping up a photograph of the Pope on Saturday Night Live in 1992 -- posted a letter on her official website assuring her fans that she does not plan on killing herself.

Celebrities Weigh in on DWTS Competition

Kevin Winter/Tonight Show/Getty Images for The Tonight Show(LOS ANGELES) -- Season 13 of Dancing with the Stars kicks off on Monday Night. Twelve celebrities will strut their stuff in the hopes of sticking around long enough to win the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

Talk show host Nancy Grace is concerned with just about everybody.

"Oh good lord, are you kidding me?" Grace said. "OK, there's [Rob] Kardashian, he's 12. There's a professional athlete and there's a professional female soccer player. There's Elisabetta Canalis who's like the Italian import, she's absolutely gorgeous. They're all young, skinny, and a great dancer, so you know, they're all a triple threat."

Who is actor David Arquette afraid of? Hint: a certain talk show legend.

"Well, you know Ricki [Lake]'s very serious. She was like into it. I mean she was like, 'I want to win this.'"

Ricki Lake returned the sentiment:

"I think David Arquette is a good dancer. I really do. I think Ron Artest has such personality, and he's so likeable."

The first dances will be the Cha Cha and the Viennese Waltz.

Scarlett Johansson Threatens Legal Action over Leaked Nude Photos

Kevin Mazur/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Scarlett Johansson threatened legal action against websites that have posted the nude photos of her that leaked earlier this week.

E! News reports her attorney sent a cease-and-desist letter to a number of sites in which he ordered them to take down what he refers to as "stolen copyright protected private photographs." If they do not, the letter warns, they will be sued.

The photos—one of which shows Johansson topless—were posted onto the Internet after her cellphone was reportedly hacked. E! News reports that a few sites, such as PerezHilton.com, have taken down the pictures after receiving the letter from her attorney. The FBI said it is investigating the leak.

Mila Kunis' cellphone was also reportedly hacked recently, making her just the latest in a growing list of stars who've had pictures or personal information stolen from them and posted online.

Emmy Awards to Air Sunday

Mathew Imaging/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Fox live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles Sunday. Actress Jane Lynch, a nominee for her performance on Glee, will host the telecast.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted the broadcast two years ago and told ABC News Radio that the Friday before the ceremony is the toughest because it’s a dress rehearsal of the entire show and, as host, you have to do all of your comedy to an audience comprised of "30 crew members who are all busy writing things on notebooks."

The HBO period miniseries Mildred Pierce enters this year's edition of the Emmys with a leading 21 nominations, including acting nods for stars Kate Winslet, Melissa Leo and Guy Pearce.

AMC's Mad Men has the most nominations among scripted series, with 19. It's a contender for best drama, while stars Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery and Christina Hendricks all have a chance to pick up an acting Emmy. Mad Men's competition for best drama includes Boardwalk Empire, which has 18 nominations overall, as well as Game of Thrones, Dexter, The Good Wife, and Friday Night Lights.

ABC's Modern Family has more nominations than any other comedy series, with 17. The reigning best-comedy winner will oppose The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock and The Office in that category on Sunday.

A full list of nominees is available at Emmys.com.

‘Creature’ Crowned One of Biggest Movie Box Office Flops

Comstock Images/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- Nothing wraps up summer quite like your token monster movie, but Creature, which opened last week, not only failed to deliver, it flopped. Big time.

The film about a half-man, half-alligator from the deep who lets out horrible, guttural screeching sounds and picks off a group of young people one-by-one, had one of the worst box office openings ever. Of 1,507 screens for Creature, its total box office revenue was just $331,000.

“You’re looking at $220 per screen, per theater, that’s a terrible, terrible opening,” said Matt Atchity of RottenTomatoes.com. “That roughly comes to six people per theater and that’s being generous. Laws of averages, you’re seeing 10 to 20 go to one and you’re seeing empty theaters.”

Sid Sheinberg, the producer of Creature, is actually the godfather of blockbuster hits. During his 20 years at the helm of Universal Studios, he “discovered” Steven Spielberg, supervised Jaws and had a heavy hand in Jurassic Park, just to name a few.

“In fact, Sid is one of the guys responsible for the modern strategy for wide-releases,” Atchity said. “Until 1977, movies were released in a different strategy than we see now—what’s called ‘road shows,’ we’d see it in a few markets, and as buzz built up, they’d go nationwide.”

In Creature’s defense, this wasn’t the weekend they expected. A few months ago, no other big movie wanted to open on 9/11 weekend, and there was the NFL strike, so the field looked wide open. But then Contagion—a thriller about a deadly disease outbreak—moved up its release date and the NFL strike was resolved. Creature wasn’t alone—several films opened badly that weekend.

Buzz about Creature zipped around the Internet after its release, but for all the wrong reasons. As we wrapped up our interview with Sid Sheinberg’s son and partner Jonathan Sheinberg, who marketed and distributed the movie, Sid burst into the room to tell us that Creature had suddenly shot up on IMBD’s MOVIEmeter—a ranking system for the most and least popular movies.

People were talking about it because it was a dud, but Jonathan turned that into a positive.

“Now our awareness is higher than a lot of openings that are happening this weekend,” he said.

Unfortunately, the buzz is building right as theater owners are pulling the film for other options.

Tareq Salahi Files for Divorce from Wife, Michaele

Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic(HUME, VA) -- Former reality TV star Tareq Salahi has filed for divorce from his wife, Michaele.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Tareq is citing adultery and abandonment as the reason for divorce.

Trouble began when Salahi had made statements to local law enforcement officials on Tuesday alleging a kidnapping plot involving his wife. He was later “devastated,” however, to receive confirmation that Michaele Salahi was indeed safe, but safe in the arms of another man. The other man was Neil Schon, guitarist for the ’80s rock band Journey.

Mickey Rooney Sues Stepson, Alleges Financial and Verbal Abuse

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Mickey Rooney is suing his stepson, claiming that his stepson has financially and verbally abused him over the past 10 years.

According to Rooney's lawsuit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles, stepson Christopher Aber gained access to the 90-year-old actor's bank accounts and applied for credit cards under the name of the company that manages Rooney's professional activities. The lawsuit further states that Aber "regularly used intimidating behavior, verbal abuse, bullying, false or misleading statements, threats and humiliation (both privately and publically) to manipulate Mickey to act for Chris's own financial gain."  As a result, the lawsuit alleges, Rooney was denied his own income and suffered depression.

In February, Rooney obtained a temporary restraining order against Aber after making similar allegations, and a Los Angeles judge appointed a conservator to protect his finances. The actor's lawsuit also targets Aber's wife.

Brad Pitt Backtracks on Jennifer Aniston Diss

Hansen/Fotos International/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Brad Pitt would like a second chance with Jennifer Aniston. Not when it comes to their 5-year marriage, but when it comes to the rare jab he made at his ex-wife in comments to Parade magazine.

“I spent the ’90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony,” the 47-year-old actor, married to Aniston from 2000 to 2005, tells Parade. “I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic."

“It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself,” Pitt continues. “I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”

Now, before the magazine even hits newsstands Sunday, Pitt has released a statement to try to pre-empt the controversy generated by his comments toward America’s sweetheart, Aniston, who once described her ex-husband as “lacking a sensitivity chip.”

“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way,” he says in the statement, released late Thursday night. “Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself -- and that, I am responsible for.”

The harsh words from the Moneyball star about his time with Aniston seem all the more biting when he goes on to talk about his happy life today with actress Angelina Jolie.

“I put much more emphasis on being a satisfied man,” Pitt tells Parade.  “I’m satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much.  A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss.  … That’s the tradeoff. But I’ll take it all.”

Pitt and Jolie met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, in 2004, while he and Aniston, 42, were still married.

He and Jolie are now raising six children together, Maddox, 10, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3.

“One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mum,” she said. “She is such a great mum. Oh, man, I’m so happy to have her.”
