Actress Amanda Bynes Charged With Two Hit-And-Runs
Jason Merritt/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Former teen star Amanda Bynes has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of hit and run after allegedly crashing into a car and fleeing the scene twice in the span of five months.
The first hit-and-run occurred on April 10, according to the complaint filed in Los Angeles. The second happened Aug. 4. Bynes is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on Sept. 27. The charges carry a maximum sentence of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for each count.
Representatives for Bynes did not immediately respond to ABC News’ requests for comment.
Bynes, 26, became a teen idol on the Nickelodeon TV series All That and The Amanda Show. She’s appeared in several films since then. But in 2010, she announced on Twitter that she had quit acting because she didn’t love it anymore. A month later, she tweeted, “I’ve unretired,” and posted an ad for her most recent film, Easy A.
