Allison Williams Starts Flying Lessons to Portray Peter Pan in NBC's Live Musical

Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Allison Williams has started her transformation into becoming Peter Pan for NBC's upcoming live musical production.

People magazine reports the Girls star has begun rehearsals for Peter Pan Live!, which NBC will air on Dec. 4.

"First day of flying lessons for Peter Pan," Williams said in a statement. "Thinking about and missing a hero of mine who once did this and left big shoes to fill."

Williams was referring to Robin Williams, who portrayed Peter Pan in the 1991 film, Hook. The comedian was found dead Monday.

Williams, who is the daughter of NBC News anchor Brian Williams, will star opposite Christopher Walken, who is portraying Captain Hook.

Peter Pan Live! is NBC's follow-up to its hit production of The Sound of Music, which starred Carrie Underwood.
