(LOS ANGELES) -- Amanda Bynes has been deemed competent to stand trial in her longstanding DUI case.
TMZ reports a Los Angeles judge issued the ruling Wednesday after reviewing a court-ordered medical evaluation of Bynes.
Bynes was arrested on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood, Calif., in April of 2012. She struggled with many other personal problems in the ensuing 15 months.
The 27-year-old actress has been receiving treatment for mental illness in various locations since July, when she allegedly started a fire in a California driveway. Her mother was granted a temporary conservatorship in August.
