Are Open Auditions Being Held for "Star Wars: Episode VII"?

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- In news that will have countless wannabe Jedi and Stormtroopers renewing their passports, it's rumored an open casting call has gone out for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Shooting on J.J. Abrams' film will begin in the U.K. after the end of the year, according to Lucasfilm, but nothing has been revealed regarding who will be playing what.  That being said, Claire Curry, a U.K.-based casting agent, has just tweeted news of upcoming auditions for a "major Disney Movie," seeking a 17-18 year-old, "street smart...strong" female they call "Rachel" who, "lost her parents when she was young," and is described as "always a survivor, never a victim."

Another called "Thomas" should be 19-23 years old, and who grew up without a dad, but is, "smart, capable, and sows courage when...needed."

Auditions begin this weekend and run throughout the month in Bristol, London, Glasgow, Manchester, and Dublin.

The fan site JediNews claims while the names are placeholders, the project in question is Episode VII.

Not surprisingly, there's no official word from the producers of the 2015 film.
