(NEW YORK) -- New York City hosted a premiere for director David O. Russell's latest drama, American Hustle, on Sunday night.
Bradley Cooper reunited with Russell on the project after starring in his last film, Silver Linings Playbook, opposite Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. Lawrence is featured in American Hustle, too, along with a couple of Russell's actors in The Fighter, Christian Bale and Amy Adams.
Cooper was thrilled to work on American Hustle for a few reasons.
"One, to keep working with David, it was almost like a continuous strain because we were in post for Silver Linings Playbook, and that bled right into prep for American Hustle. Being able to be with Christian Bale and Amy Adams and all the rest of the cast, yeah, it was incredible," he explained on Sunday night.
Adams says her role, a woman who's partnered with a con man and is forced to work for an FBI agent, was a complex and challenging one. She added, "David is...the kind of director you want to do it with."
American Hustle opens in select theaters this Friday before expanding next week.
