Casey Kasem's Daughter Seeks Conservatorship for Father

Chris Polk/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- The 38-year-old daughter of legendary radio host and voice actor Casey Kasem filed court papers Monday in Los Angeles, requesting a conservatorship to manage her father's healthcare, according to People magazine.

The request by Julie Kasem follows allegations by her and two adult siblings that their stepmother, Jean Kasem, has prevented them from visiting their 81-year-old father, who they say they have not seen him in three months.

Casey suffers from Parkinson's disease and reportedly is unable to walk without assistance.

Julie and siblings Kerri, 41, and Michael, 40, are Casey's children from his first marriage, to Linda Myers.  Casey also has a 23-year-old daughter with Jean, whom he married in 1980.

Kerri recently told People, "When he was healthy, our dad used to talk to us all the time. We're his joy.  Now we've been cut off from him.  The same goes for many of his friends.  We just want to know that our dad is okay."
