(OSLO, Norway) -- The wife of radio and television host Casey Kasem plans to attempt to bury his body in Oslo, according to a statement released by her nephew.
Tommy Thompson, a son of one of Jean Kasem's siblings, says that Jean Kasem sent an open letter to the Norwegian government declaring her Norwegian ancestry, among other things. Thompson, however, says that as far as the family is aware "we are English, German and Native American. We have never ever heard anyone speak of Norway or Norwegian for that matter in our house. We don't have an ounce of Norwegian blood to our knowledge."
The Hollywood Reporter said earlier Friday that Kasem's wife hoped to bury his body in Norway.
The decision on where to bury Kasem is just the latest in a string of disputes between Jean Kasem and other family members. Casey Kasem's daughter Kerri is planning on writing a letter to the Norwegian government in the coming days, speaking to what she says is Kasem's requested burial location -- Forest Lawn in Glendale, Calif.
