Chris Pine: Working with Lindsay Lohan Was Like 'Cyclone of Insanity'

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) -- Chris Pine starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in the 2006 romantic comedy Just My Luck when his career had not yet taken off and her's was on fire, and he recalls learning a valuable lesson at the time about how to handle one's own success.

Pine tells The Hollywood Reporter being around Lohan on the set of the film "was a real cyclone of insanity, like being around The Beatles."

He adds, "It was fascinating to watch, and in hindsight it's really a distinct moment in someone's life when you see what's really wonderful about what we get to do and what's really dangerous about it."

Pine, 33, believes it's easy to get caught up in all the trappings of being a star. He tells the industry publication, "Hollywood is like living in a weird bubble. A bunch of people take care of you and get you stuff, and you're the center of that little microcosmic world. You start believing that it is real deserve it."

The actor recalls his own brush a few years ago with Lohan-level press coverage when a brief romance with reality TV personality Audrina Patridge had members of the paparazzi chasing him.

He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "The light of my flame was really bright after Star Trek [in 2009], and I had that bizarre convergence of everything's so intense for about a month, and then it died down. During that time, they're f**king chasing you, and you're driving at speeds you shouldn't be driving at. Thankfully, I don't really have much of that anymore."

Pine will be seen next in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, co-starring with Kevin Costner. It's set to hit theaters on Jan. 17.
