(NEW YORK) -- Christina Applegate returns as Veronica Corningstone, the wife of Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy, in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, opening Wednesday.
Applegate was thrilled to have the opportunity to work again with Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner on the sequel.
She tells ABC News Radio, "These are just funny people, and it's not 'outdo yourself' funny, it's really like, I want to tickle you. You know, like when you tickle your kid and you love watching them laugh? That's how it is with us. I love being around those boys."
She insists her co-stars are just as down-to-earth as they were when the first Anchorman movie was released in 2004, even though all of them are bigger stars now. However, she does concede the cast has aged -- and she believes it's more noticeable with her than it is with the men.
Applegate jokes, "I had asked [the producers], can I please have a goatee in this, just to cover my jowels. They said no, people wouldn't recognize you. I said fine."
