Coldplay Announces 2012 North American Tour

Greetsia Tent/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Coldplay is hitting the road in North America for the first time in three years.

The band has just announced a North American tour in support of their latest album, Mylo Xyloto, kicking off April 17 in Edmonton, Alberta.  The trek at present plays 21 dates -- two of them in Los Angeles -- before wrapping up August 11, 2012 in St. Paul, Minn.

The on-sale date for tickets is Dec. 17, except for the Chicago and Los Angeles shows, tickets for which go on sale Dec. 19 and Jan. 9, respectively.

Here are Coldplay's North American tour dates so far:

4/18 -- Calgary, AB, Scotiabank Saddledome
4/20 -- Vancouver, BC, Rogers Arena
4/24 -- Portland, OR, Rose Garden Arena

5/1 -- Los Angeles, CA,  Hollywood Bowl
5/2 -- Los Angeles, CA, Hollywood Bowl

6/28 -- Tampa, FL, St. Pete Times Forum
