College Naming School of Communication After Ron Burgundy

Gemma LaMana/Paramount Pictures Corporation(BOSTON) -- Boston will stay classy on Dec. 4, when Ron Burgundy will be honored by one of the city's colleges.

Emerson College has announced it will name its School of Communication the "Ron Burgundy School of Communication" on that December date in recognition of Will Ferrell's Anchorman character.  The name change will only be in effect for that one day.

Ferrell, as Burgundy, will make an appearance at Emerson College for a naming ceremony, a press conference, and a screening of his upcoming sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.  The school promises Burgundy will "share his path to journalism greatness with students."

Emerson College President Lee Pelton says in a statement, “A visit from Ron Burgundy is a chance to engage with someone who understands the power of media, as well as hairspray, first-hand."

If you can't make it to Emerson College on Dec. 4, you'll be able to watch the naming ceremony online at, beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens in theaters on Dec. 20.
