"Criminal Minds" Star Snagged in 'Catfish' Scam

Vincent Sandoval/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Thomas Gibson may play a brilliant FBI investigator on the CBS series Criminal Minds, but TMZ is reporting the married actor was hoodwinked by another woman in an online "catfish" scam.

The actor was allegedly involved with an unidentified female fan in an online relationship that lasted two years, during which the North Dakota woman reportedly hooked him with sexy pictures she cut and pasted from porno websites.

The gossip site reports Gibson responded, even posted videos of himself in a jacuzzi, speaking with the woman while scanning off-camera to see if any family members were approaching.

According to TMZ, the actor's attorneys recently got wind the pictures were fake, and told the catfish to stop contacting the actor.

Gibson plays Aaron Hotchner on Criminal Minds.
