"Daddy's Home 2" and "Murder on the Orient Express" among this week's new releases

Paramount Pictures(NEW YORK) -- Opening in wide release on Friday:

* Daddy's Home 2 -- Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are back as Brad and Dusty in the sequel to 2015's Daddy's Home. This time, the odd couple co-parents must deal with their very different fathers -- played by John Lithgow and Mel Gibson, respectively -- as they try to make the holidays perfect for their kids. Co-starring Linda Cardellini and John Cena. Rated PG-13.

* Murder on the Orient Express -- Kenneth Brannagh directs and stars as detective Hercule Poirot in this murder mystery based on Agatha Christie's classic novel about a lavish train ride through Europe that turns into a race against the clock to solve a murder before the next one takes place. Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley round out the ensemble cast. Rated PG-13.

Opening in limited release on Friday:

* Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri -- Francis McDormand stars in this dark dramady about a mother who takes matters into her own hands when local police are unable to track down a suspect in her daughter's murder. Woody Harrelson, Peter Dinklage and Sam Rockwell co-star. Rated R. (TRAILER CONTAINS MILD EXPLETIVE)
