"Dallas" Returns to Just Three Million Viewers

Peter Larsen/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- TNT's Dallas suffered a ratings letdown with its second-season premiere on Monday night.

The update of the 1980s drama attracted an audience of about three million viewers for its two-hour episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter. By comparison, the show's series premiere last summer was seen by 6.9 million.

The second season of Dallas has drawn interest from the media because it will include the final TV appearances by the late Larry Hagman, who died last November after filming five episodes. His character, J.R. Ewing, will be given a funeral later this season.

Elsewhere on the ratings front, American Idol was the most-watched primetime program on network TV for the week ending Sunday. The Fox singing competition drew more than 16 million viewers on Wednesday night and 15.65 million viewers on Thursday night.

CBS won the network ratings race for the week, followed by Fox, ABC, NBC, Univision, the CW, Telemundo and ION Television.

Here are the top 10 primetime programs for the week of January 21-27, according to the Nielsen Company:

1. American Idol (Wednesday), Fox, 16.07 million
2. American Idol (Thursday), Fox, 15.65 million
3. NCIS, CBS, 12.86 million
4. NFL Pro Bowl, NBC, 12.16 million
5. NCIS: Los Angeles, CBS, 11.93 million

7. 60 Minutes, CBS, 11.65 million
8. 2 Broke Girls, CBS, 11.56 million

10. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS, 11.46 million
