(NEW YORK) -- Here's a look at the new movies in theaters Friday:
-- Divergent: The first film in the much-hyped series, based on the best-selling novels by Veronica Roth, makes its debut. It's set in a world where people are divided into five factions, based on human virtues. "Divergents," like Shailene Woodley's Tris Prior, don’t fit in with any of the factions, so they've been ordered destroyed by a faction leader, played by Kate Winslet. Theo James, Ashley Judd, Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Tony Goldwyn, Ansel Elgort and Mekhi Phifer also star in the film, which is screening in IMAX theaters. Rated PG-13. [Click here to read a review]
-- Muppets Most Wanted: In the follow-up to the 2011 Muppets film, the Muppets head to Europe, where Kermit the Frog lands in trouble, thanks to an evil doppelgänger named Constantine. Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Modern Family's Ty Burrell star alongside the Muppets. Rated PG.
